The ACCG-GMA Joint Training Session will take place on Nov. 18 at the Porter Conference Center, located at the Oconee Fall Line Technical College in Dublin/Laurens County. Commissioners Training Program, Certified Commissioners Advanced Program and Clerks’ Certification courses are being offered.

Any public water system that serves a population equal to or greater than 3,300 individuals are invited to attend a Water Loss Audit and Water Loss Control Training workshop. Four workshops will be held in various locations in October.

On Oct. 14, a coalition of groups is sponsoring "Building Schools, Building Communities – A School Siting Symposium" in Atlanta at the Loudermilk Center. This one-day workshop will bring together various stakeholders to examine factors that influence school siting decisions in Georgia and the Southeast.

The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation is seeking nominations for its 2012 Preservation Awards, an annual list of preservation projects and individuals in the state who have made significant contributions to the field of historic preservation. Nominations must be submitted no later than Monday, Oct. 17.
