All counties are encouraged to nominate a successful program or initiative that demonstrates county government at its best. Winning counties will be profiled in the March 2011 issue of Georgia Trend magazine and will be recognized at the 2011 ACCG Annual Meeting. The deadline to submit an application is Nov. 1, 2010.

Georgia’s Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) is offering free training on the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Knowledge of and compliance with the MUTCD is critical in making public roads safer and reducing claims against counties resulting from alleged roadway defects or improper signage. ACCG Insurance Programs strongly recommends that transportation personnel make plans to attend this training.
