ACCG is now accepting nominations for the 2022 ACCG Awards & Recognition Program, which serves as a way to recognize the individuals who provide outstanding contributions to their local community. The deadline to submit your nominations is Friday, March 4, 2022. 
ACCG has released an updated Local Redistricting Toolkit that includes more FAQs and a sample redistricting resolution for counties that need assistance with redrawing county commission districts. 
  
Heads Up! Starting February 1, eligible members of the ACCG Workers’ Compensation Program can apply for a 2022 Employee Safety Grant. The application window closes on May 31.

Georgia Environmental Finance Authority's (GEFA) Biosolids Assessment and Prepared Study is now available. The study was conducted to evaluate the challenges and opportunities related to biosolids management in Georgia and to provide recommendations regarding strategies and funding for biosolids management going forward. 
  
Did you know that ACCG and GMA have been providing firefighter cancer coverage since 2018? Learn more about the 2022 Firefighter Cancer Awareness Action Plan and the newly created incentive plan to foster participation and encourage departments to develop a specific cancer reduction SOP/policy.
The county governing authority is required to set and publish the qualifying fees for 2022 elections for salaried or non-salaried county offices by February 1. To help counties with the process, ACCG has released a document on the calculation of qualifying fees.

Georgia county officials attending the 2022 NACo Legislative Leadership Conference (February 12-16) are encouraged to participate in the 11th annual visit to Arlington National Cemetery on Sunday, February 13 with ACCG.
  
The National Association of Counties (NACo) has announced the second round of the Creative Counties Placemaking Challenge. Counties with populations of less than 150,000 are encouraged to form multidisciplinary teams to compete in a challenge competition to identify and strengthen ways to integrate arts into solutions to local challenges. Applications are due by February 7.
