The ACCG - Group Self-Insurance Workers’ Compensation Fund (ACCG-GSIWCF) Board voted to return a $4 million dividend to eligible members that renew their membership effective January 1, 2022.  An additional $6 million cash return was also approved for eligible members who maintain their membership in the program.

The ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation is still accepting applications for the 2022 Georgia County Internship Program (GCIP) through December 17, 2021. Don't miss out on the opportunity to help students gain first-hand work experience, develop new skills, and learn about potential career paths in county government. 
  
December's spotlight is shining on biochemistry major Hope Roper and her internship with Cherokee County’s Senior Services department. While she had some insight on county government operations, this internship provided a better understanding of the individuality and importance of various county government roles. ACCG and the Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC) will host a webinar on Monday, December 13 on the newly created Timber Harvest Notification Website. All who have timber harvesting occurring in your county and especially those who have a Timber Harvest Notification Ordinance in place are encouraged to participate in this webinar.
  
ACCG would like to extend a congratulations to the county employees that were recently awarded Level I and Level II certifications in the Human Resource Manager program. Recipients were presented with their certifications during the Georgia Local Government Personnel Association's (GLGPA) Spring and Fall Conferences.
  
The Immigration Report Collection System managed by the Department of Audits and Accounts (DOAA) is now open for the reporting period of Dec. 1, 2021 through Nov. 30, 2021. The due date to complete the report is Dec. 31, 2021.

USDA has several grant and loan opportunities for rural counties. Learn more about the eligibility requirements and deadlines for the ReConnect Program and the Emergency Rural Health Care Grants.
The Census Bureau has released data on how to challenge the 2020 Census results. The program, Count Question Resolution (CQR) was created for states and local governments to challenge census results after detailed data is delivered. More details on QCR and how to participate can be found here.
Now that the 2020 Census results for redistricting have been distributed by the Census Bureau, county commissions need to redraw the lines of their commission districts to ensure equal population. All county commission districts must be approved through a local Act of the General Assembly. To help counties understand the process for this redistricting cycle, ACCG has provided a detailed overview of the local redistricting process.
  
The 2022 NACo Legislative Conference will take place February 12 - 16 in Washington, D.C. Registration is now open! Attendees have the opportunity to engage in policy and educational sessions, interact with federal officials, and participate in congressional briefings and meetings. 
 
Held in conjunction with the NACo Legislative Conference, Georgia county officials are invited to join ACCG on Sunday, February 13 at Arlington National Cemetery for a Public Wreath Laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Be on the lookout for additional details on this special event.
