The ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation annually awards Georgia County Internship Program (GCIP) Grants to fund internship projects in counties across the state. County internship grant opportunities are exclusively available during the summer. The goal of the program is to enable counties to hire talented high school students, college students, and recent graduates for specific projects that will benefit county government and its citizens; give students a chance to learn first-hand about the role of county government; provide practical work experiences students can use in the job market upon graduation; and inspire young people to consider a career in county government. To date, over 550 internships in more than 90 counties have been funded.

Grant invitations will be sent via email to all counties this month. Applications must be submitted through the GCIP portal by October. The Foundation will be hosting two webinars in August to provide additional information about the grant process.
