ACCG Insurance Programs Provide Safety Discounts & Safety Grants
Safety does not happen by accident. By instilling a positive safety culture that includes a safety program with safety procedures, equipment, and training, leaders are committing to employee health and impacting the way employees feel about their workplace. This allows employees to feel valued and empowered to take responsibility for the safety of themselves and others. This should also result in fewer injuries, reducing downtime and costs resulting from claims. Safety pays off in many ways.
ACCG-Group Self-Iinsurance Workers Compensation Fund (ACCG-GSIWCF) and ACCG-Interlocal Risk Management Agency (ACCG-IRMA) are required by their governing code sections to establish loss reduction and loss prevention programs for their members to aide in the reduction of claims, which may reduce future Contributions for coverage. Members are required by the By-Laws and Intrastate/Intergovernmental Agreements to appoint a safety coordinator and implement loss control measures as part of their membership obligations.
ACCG-GSIWCF members that met the safety requirements received a 7.5% discount on their 2025 renewal contributions. Those members also then qualify for a portion of the $500,000 in ACCG-GSIWCF Employee Safety Grants. ACCG begins accepting applications for grant funds on Thursday, May 1.
ACCG-IRMA members that met the safety requirements in 2024 will receive a 5% savings on their renewal contributions for the upcoming July renewal.
The requirements for the next Safety Discount Program (2026) are outlined in a new version mailed out to the Insurance Contacts and Safety Coordinators. They are also available online at the following links:
