The ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation is accepting applications for the 2022 Georgia County Internship Program (GCIP) through December 17, 2021.The purpose of the GCIP is to connect certain high school students, college and graduate students, and recent graduates with internship opportunities in county government. GCIP allows students to gain first-hand work experience, develop new skills, and learn about potential career paths in county government.

GCIP also provides counties with the opportunity to complete special projects. Previous award-winning projects have included website design, data collection and analysis, development of documents, guides, handbooks, policies and ordinances, social media campaigns, environmental management projects, health and wellness program development, GIS projects, land use and planning projects, senior services projects, parks and recreation program development, record retention and county ordinance codification projects, law enforcement program research and development, and court related projects. Since the beginning of the program, 485 internship opportunities in 86 counties have been provided.
