Port of Halifax Receives Top-Rated Cruise Destination Award

The 2016 Cruisers’ Choice Destination Awards announced by Cruise Critic lists the Port of Halifax as one of the top five Canada-U.S. cruise destinations. Awards are based on ratings submitted with reviews posted on CruiseCritic.com.

Others among the top five were San Francisco, Bar Harbor, Key West, and San Diego. View the full listing. 
 
The port welcomed 222,309 passengers and 141 vessel calls during the 2015 cruise season and is expecting an even more successful season this year.

A recent economic impact report released by the Halifax Port Authority found the cruise industry in Halifax is worth an estimated C$104.3 million in economic benefit for the local economy. This includes passenger spending on tourism-related activities as well as provisioning associated with cruise vessels.
