Why play in a golf tournament? Tuesday's WRLA Terry Yates Memorial Golf Tournament at Quarry Oaks in Steinbach gave many answers to this simple question. The top reasons for participating, in no special order are: to exercise, to get fresh air, to have camaraderie with associates, to scoop a day away from the office, to fund raise, to improve your golf swing, to share laughs, and to compete in a friendly environment. There were over 200 golfers who shared these thoughts during an 11:00 a.m. shot-gun tee off Tuesday, August 21. It was sunny and it was hot. The day capped off with a roast beef buffet in the Marquee. President Gary Hamilton, and Board Directors, Sean Phillips, Martha Konantz and Steve Peters presented awards and prizes. Why play in a golf tournament indeed. If you are not already registered in the upcoming two WRLA tournaments September 6 in Calgary and September 12 in Kenosee, SK, do it now. Home Hardware Stores Limited’s Terry Davis to Kick-Off New Season of Undercover Boss Canada
St. Jacobs, ON, – Home Hardware Stores Limited’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Terry Davis, will go undercover to learn more about the day-to-day operations of Canada’s largest independent, Dealer-owned hardware, lumber, building materials and furniture cooperative. The transformation will be featured in the season premiere of W Network’s Undercover Boss Canada on Thursday, September 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Undercover Boss Canada follows executives as they leave the comfort of their offices to go undercover alongside their staff. Each episode features an executive who is transformed into a frontline worker with a covert disguise and a convincing back story. Working alongside their employees, each "boss" embarks on an often emotional journey as they struggle to learn new skills not required at the executive level and discover the effects their decisions have on others, the perception of the company, and who the unsung heroes of their workforce are. Chalifour Canada announced the promotion of Grant Harris to the newly created position of National Logistics Manager.
In this new role he will be responsible for the complete transportation portfolio of Chalifour Canada.
