On December 2, NAFA Ontario Chapter hosted an Adverse Conditions and Eco-Driving seminar. The Chapter, in partnership with DriveWise Canada, coordinated the seminar which was designed to be informative and interactive while requiring participation from the attendees.

General Motors announced on December 10 that Chief Executive Daniel F. Akerson would retire next month and be succeeded by Mary T. Barra, who would become the first woman to lead a major auto company. The elevation of Barra to the chief executive post is the latest dramatic change at the top of General Motors since its bailout by the federal government in 2009.

All of the efforts by manufacturers to make electric vehicles more popular seem to be working; however, there is one issue that they haven’t resolved that may be keeping EV sales from taking off: price. EVs and all their variants – hybrids, plug-in hybrids, etc. – are still too expensive, in spite of potential savings on fuel.
