Gail Watson, CAFM, is the Fleet and Parking Services Manager for Nationwide Insurance, Columbus, OH. Her position includes managing the fleet leasing contract for 4,300 vehicles, and managing associate parking in Nationwide’s downtown garages. A 43-year associate, she works closely with the vehicle manufacturers and Nationwide’s fleet management company externally, and the Safety and Risk areas internal to Nationwide.

Gail earned her Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) designation in 1996 and re-certified in 2001, 2006, and 2011.

Gail is a Member of the Tri-State Chapter and served as the Chapter Membership Committee Chair from 1992-1993, Chapter Vice Chair from 1995-1996, and Chapter Chair from 1996-1998. Gail served as I&E Curriculum Committee Co-chair from 1994-1995, I&E Curriculum Committee Chair from 1995-1996, and was a Member of the I&E Steering Board from 1995-1996.

Gail also served as the National Editorial Advisory Council Co-chair from 1996-1997, National Editorial Advisory Council Chair from 1997-1998, as a Member of the National Education Development Committee from 1996-1998, and as a Member of the Nominating Committee from 1997-1998.

Tom started his fleet career as a dispatcher for a Midwest trucking company in 1975. He relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1976 and began a 14 year career with Consolidated Freightways, where he held several increasingly responsible positions, ending with his role as Manager of Linehaul Equipment Purchasing. He was also the Fleet Administrator for the company’s several thousand leased and owned automobiles.

In 1990, Tom and his family relocated to Portland, OR. In 1991, he became Fleet Manager for the City of Longview, WA, a position he held until 2006 when he joined Clark County, WA’s fleet team. In 2009, Tom was appointed Fleet Manager for Washington County, Oregon. Having held positions in both the public and private sectors, Tom finds great satisfaction working in local government, where he continues to manage a fleet operation that provides value and accountability to county taxpayers and the internal customers that his division serves.

Tom is a Member of the Pacific Northwest Chapter and served as Chapter Secretary from 1992-1995, Chapter Vice Chair from 1998-2000, and Chapter Law Enforcement Committee Chair from 1994-1995. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing guitar.
