In March 2016, the Spray Foam Coalition released a document intended to provide general guidance on ventilation during installation of interior applications of high-pressure spray polyurethane foam (SPF) in new residences and buildings and during renovation and weatherization projects in existing homes and buildings.

When working with and around combustible materials like wood and spray foam insulation, fire safety should be on everyone’s mind. There is potential for fire when these combustible materials are exposed to open flame or high heat from cutting, welding, grinding and other activities that occur during the construction process.

With this in mind, here are seven steps for fire safety:

Within the next few weeks, SPFA will be hosting an informational webinar about the SPFA Professional Certification Program (PCP). The program will be moderated by Kurt Riesenberg, Executive Director SPFA and the speakers are Bonnie Strickler – Chair of the QAP Committee for the Certification Program and Kelly Marcavage, Certification Director SPFA.
 
The SPFA "Foam-It-Right" webinar series is an easy and free way to get continuing educational credits needed for PCP recertification. This webinar series is for SPFA members, but those registered in the PCP can also attend. Just contact Kelly Marcavage for more details at kmarcavage@sprayfoam.org
