Valmet Seeks Regional Sales Manager
The Regional Sales Manager, is responsible for achieving revenue goals by developing sales programs and obtaining orders from customers in your assigned territory. They will travel to customer sites within a local region in order to sell the full range of Valmet Automation products and services. They will also coordinate and participate in the project engineering and field service support work that we rely on in order to develop sales opportunities.
The Regional Sales Manager will be selling Valmet's Automation equipment, which is equipment that measures and analyzes some product quality at the customer’s pulp/paper mill locations. The equipment utilizes the following: electricity, electronic boards, small valves, gaskets, network products, tubing, actuators, sensors, hand held configuration terminals, bearings, cabling, computers, pneumatics, water and air.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the immediate sales potential of
assigned accounts in your territory; plan and develop your sales approach in
coordination with our Sales Director. Then plan and execute your sales
strategy.
- Develop and maintain customer contacts. Make
calls on key decision-makers and customer representatives in order to
familiarize them with Valmet's products and services. You'll also keep your
customers up-to-date about new services, new applications, changes to our
products, and competitors' offerings.
- Create and exhibit sales presentations which
provide solutions to customers' specific needs.
- Arrange for any necessary technical assistance for
more complex situations; coordinate with other Valmet business lines when you
identify additional sales opportunities.
- Present quotations, assist with planning, and
close the sale personally.
- Prepare and maintain all applicable records and reports
Requirements:
Valmet is seeking candidates with a four year degree from a technical college or university, preferably in Chemical, Electrical, or P&P Engineering; additionally, 5 or more years of progressive application and sales experience in the Pulp and Paper industry. Knowledge of paper mills and specific customers within the region will be a plus. The location for this position will be flexible within the Ohio Valley Region. Travel is required and is approximately 75% within the local region, and may include some international travel at times. A valid driver's license is required.
