NENA seeks volunteers with an interest in being a Working Group Co-Chair for the Agency Systems Committee (ASC) Document Review Working Group. The first task of the Document Review WG will be to assess the NENA E9-1-1 PSAP Equipment Standard to determine if this ANSI approved standard should be reaffirmed or revised and to support the document to publication.
A Working Group Co-Chair is not required to hold a NENA membership or to be a subject-matter expert (SME). The applicant should possess administrative, facilitatory, and/or management skills related to meeting facilitation, preparation of agendas and notes, document creation and management, and overall working group discussion. Training will be provided.
NENA prefers that a working group have, at a minimum, two Co-Chairs, although three is optimal, to support the various duties of work group management and the document development process. More information on the Roles and Responsibilities of Working Group Chairs can be found here.
If you are interested in applying for this Co-Chair role, please complete the Leadership Application and return via email to the Agency Systems Committee Co-Chairs Michael Smith and Steve McMurrer.
The deadline to submit your application is June 3, 2024.

The newly-formed Volunteer Recruitment and Recognition working group seeks volunteers to develop a plan for both recruiting of subject matter experts (SMEs) and recognition of loyal SMEs who provide their expertise and time to NENA's working groups. Subject matter experts are vital to the productivity and success of working groups; we lose potential for quality products without diversity and availability of SMEs. It is also important that recognition be given to individuals, companies, and organizations for participation in, and contributions to, working groups. This will help to retain the current volunteer SMEs and bring in new SMEs.
Working group volunteers are not required to but may have some experience in either volunteer recruitment or recognition programs. Meetings will be held on Thursdays at 1PM Eastern.
