We are now accepting proposals for concurrent session presentations for the 2015 HRMAM HR & Leadership Conference, 'Involve and Evolve'. If you have solutions, experiences and stories to share with Manitoba's HR professionals consider becoming a presenter.

The Level 2 course is the second phase of the journey to a professional designation as a Certified Mentor Practitioner. This 2.5 day training course combines academic and practical experience, including a full day of case studies and the application of mentoring concepts in a controlled and safe environment. Day 3 (half day) provides time for reflection on what has been learned and the completion of an on-line examination as part of the certification process.

This info session is intended for HRMAM members who currently hold the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation. As a CHRP you are required to report a minimum of 100 hours of professional development activity in each three year reporting cycle to maintain your designation. We will cover the CHRP continuing professional development process including an overview of the new log. We will also review the development categories, examples of development activities that qualify for Continuing Professional Development hours, and tips on retaining and capturing the information required over the three year period.

The CHRP Validation of Professional Experience Assessment is a formal step in earning the CHRP designation that requires candidates to demonstrate three or more years of professional experience in Human Resources within the last ten years. 

To gain your CHRP designation through the assessment experience, CHRP candidates will be required to submit a completed application.  This application will need to be validated by your current employer.  In order to be eligible to submit an application you need to be a Candidate (someone who has passed the NKE) and have had your proof of degree verified.  

The next submission deadline is January 15.

Formerly known as the Excellence in Leadership Awards, the HR Excellence Awards are designed to showcase outstanding Human Resource achievements in Manitoba, honouring employers and individuals who are leaders in diversity, development, impact and innovation. 

The HR Excellence Awards include two types of awards - Business Excellence Awards and Professional Excellence Awards.  The Business Excellence Awards include eight categories which align with the key professional practices of Human Resource Professionals, while the four Professional Excellence Awards are designed to recognize specific individuals for their unique contributions.  

HRMAM encourages organizations and individuals to nominate themselves or others for an HR Excellence Award by submitting an application to the HRMAM office.

A Winkler woman has been awarded more than $36,000 after the Human Rights Commission investigated her claims to having been sexually harassed by her boss, the owner of a UPS franchise. Following the investigation, the case was referred to a government appointed adjudicator who proceeded to award her with compensation for exemplary damages, injury to her dignity, feelings and self respect and lost wages.. Read more here
