Unprecedented savings have been won by Australia’s innovative subsea services company, Dive Works, for their oil and gas clients through the imaginative deployment of their Saab Seaeye Leopard electric robotic vehicle The Saab Seaeye Leopard performed seemingly impossible IRM work scope in Bass Strait, says Dive Works, which previously could only be achieved by large and expensive hydraulic systems and divers.
 
Hydraulic cutting tools specialist, Webtool, is announcing the industry’s first battery-powered, high pressure hydraulic power pack, enabling smaller and inspection class ROVs access to the Webtool range of hydraulic wire rope and softline fibre rope cutters, at Offshore Europe 2017. In addition, the stand will feature the Webtool Cable Retrieval Tool (CRT200), developed in consultation with international certification body and classification society, DNVGL, and the Webtool portable, softline, deck emergency cutter for offshore vessels.

The ADCI is soliciting comments for it upcoming revisions to the International Consensus Standards for Commercial Diving and Underwater Operations. Stakeholders are invited to provide comments for the upcoming edition 6.3.

The comment period will commence on 27 June 2017 and conclude on 24 September 2017. The following areas will be available for comment:

Underwater Intervention 2018 will take place February 6-8, 2018, at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA.  The new website has been launched (UI 2018), and new information is being added every week. Mark your calendar now and check out the website regularly for new information and to register in September.

NUI will, on behalf of The Association of Operators for Hyperbaric Lifeboat Reception Facilities repeat the success by arranging the 25th Bergen International Diving Seminar.

Bibby Offshore, a leading subsea services provider to the oil and gas industry, has announced a multimillion pound contract with a global energy player, Maersk Oil UK, to provide both late life production enhancement and decommissioning support in the North Sea.
 
Blackmagic Design today announced that its Micro Studio Camera 4K was chosen as part of the new EagleRay 4K underwater camera system, which is used to capture 4K footage up to 1,000 meters deep. Lee Frey, co-founder of Arctic Rays and manned submersible pilot for Alucia Productions, used the Micro Studio Camera 4K to capture footage during Antarctic expeditions for the BBC’s "Blue Planet II" and the NHK’s "Deep Ocean" series.
 
Talos Energy LLC ("Talos" or the "Company") as operator, together with its joint venture partners Sierra Oil and Gas S. de R.L de C.V. ("Sierra") and Premier Oil Plc ("Premier"), announces that the Zama-1 exploration well, offshore Mexico, has discovered oil. Talos holds a 35% participation interest with Sierra and Premier holding 40% and 25% participation interests, respectively.

As part of its ongoing growth plans, Briggs Marine Contractors has made a six-figure investment into its diving division's capabilities with the purchase of a dual basket diver Launch and Recovery System (LARS)
 
A new UK-based company which aims to address the immediate and long-term skills needs of the global marine energy sector, was launched on 10th July.  Headquartered in Cornwall, south-west England, UTM Consultants Ltd will leverage its extensive network together with its industry experience to source and supply the manpower solutions required to deliver complex ROV, survey, inspection, repair and maintenance projects to the oil and gas, renewable, hydrographic, marine, power and telecommunications sectors.
 
Identifying new opportunities and understanding regional challenges are set to be key themes at the 2017 Subsea Asia conference and exhibition, as the call for speakers is launched. Organised by Subsea UK, Subsea Asia will run from 13-16 September alongside the Oil & Gas Indonesia 2017 conference in Jakarta.
 
Bluestream has secured a five-year contract plus two-year extension with ONEgas, the combined business unit of Shell UK and the Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM) for the gas production on the Southern North Sea. The contract is a ROV subsea structural inspection services contract and includes in total 69 of ONEgas’s offshore platforms and subsea completions in the Southern North Sea, UK and Dutch sectors. Work started immediately, after signing the contract on 24 May 2017.
