ARTICLE III – BOARD OF DIRECTORS

There shall be twenty-four (24) elected directors. Three each shall be elected from the six established West Virginia Division of Forestry districts and six member elected at large from among the membership. All directors shall be elected by a plurality of the eligible voting member of the Association. Directors shall serve three years and may be re-elected after one year’s absence.
Each year eight directors shall be elected, one each from the established West Virginia Division of Forestry districts and two at large members.
Election shall be my mail ballot vote with ballots being distributed to all voting members at least thirty days prior to the annual meeting. The votes cast shall be tallied and validated by the elections committee. Those elected shall be announced to the membership at the annual meeting.
In addition, the board may appoint a director, the Tree Farmer of the Year in West Virginia, for a term beginning in the year after his selection, who shall serve a term of one year and who may be re-elected for a full term beginning the year next following.
The President shall also serve as an ex-officio member of the Board and Executive Committee for a period one year following the expiration of his term as president.
