The conference was a success in that speakers resonated with the attendees, challenged thinking, and offered new ideas and innovative and strategic approaches. Many participants commented that this conference stimulated renewed interest in engaging more directly on relevant and meaningful topics from shared experiences with colleagues and friends.

 

The conference theme was: "Growing our Future." We look forward to a future where the global community has addressed deforestation and illegal logging, and takes pride in purchasing forest products derived from a responsibly managed renewable resource. 

 

The SFI community is strengthening the vital links between healthy forests, responsible purchasing and sustainable communities. The SFI 2015-2019 SFI Forest Management Standard is recognized as a credible forest certification standard by PEFC. This endorsement adds international value to SFI’s position as a highly respected, third-party certification program in North America. PEFC has also endorsed the American Tree Farm System and Canadian Standards Association (CSA) standards in the U.S. and Canada, and in turn SFI recognizes both the ATFS – and CSA-certified content in supply chains.
