On the business front, the General Session was well-attended as Dave Higgins, of Robinson & McElwee, shared some profound truths and helpful insights about the Obama Administration’s Affordable Care Act. Then, Eli McCoy, with Potesta & Associates, gave a very interesting presentation on the water issues resulting from the new Aboveground Storage Tank law and its impacts on the forest industry. Randy Dye, WV State Forester, closed the session with an overview of the West Virginia Division of Forestry activities.

Then, at the Awards Luncheon, several awards were given to recognize outstanding achievement in the industry.
Following the Awards Luncheon was an afternoon of relaxation or recreation depending on your taste.

Saturday's banquet concluded the meeting as winners from the day's events were recognized and door prizes were awarded to all present. WVFA President Lanny Williamson presented awards for outstanding service and achievements to several of our own. First Vice-President Ed Kraynok presented (soon) outgoing President Williamson with the president's plaque. Also, Becky Metz, representing the WV Tree Farm Committee, announced that the Silent Auction raised almost $1,800.
