Walter J. Hachborn to be inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame

Home Hardware’s 50th Anniversary a Testament to Co-Founder’s Vision, Leadership
  
Over the course of his almost 80 year career, Mr. Hachborn’s leadership and entrepreneurialism have had tremendous impact on the national hardware industry and the survival of the independent home improvement retailer in Canada.

Mr. Hachborn dedicated his career to his vision of helping independent hardware retailers grow their businesses. This vision is the foundation on which Home Hardware was built, and it remains the cornerstone of the company today as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
 
Paul Straus, President of Home Hardware Stores Limited, will be accepting the award in May on behalf of Walter Hachborn. Joining Mr. Hachborn as a 2015 inductee are André Bérard, Corporate Director, National Bank of Canada; N. Murray Edwards, Chairman, Canadian Natural Resources Limited and Heather Reisman, Chair & CEO, Indigo Books & Music Inc.
