TORONTO, Sept. 19, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - "Taking part in projects that help building better cities and communities is an important part of our mission," said Dale Hollingsworth, Vice-president Central Aggregate, Lafarge Eastern Canada.  "Habitat for Humanity is an incredible organization that shares similar values with Lafarge in their continuous efforts to provide affordable housing around the world.  We are thrilled to participate - through volunteer hours, and inkind donation of Lafarge materials - in this amazing community project that will enable local families to purchase well built and affordable houses."

A well-built home starts with a well-built foundation" says Wayne Dempsey, VP of Construction at Habitat for Humanity Toronto. "By donating 100% of our aggregate needs for both the Acme and Runnymede Road build sites, Lafarge Canada is helping Habitat Toronto provide more affordable homeownership opportunities for low-income families. Along with Lafarge Canada's generous donation of building materials, they have also assembled a team of women to participate in Habitat Toronto's 2013 Women Build this September. Together, our combined efforts will lay the groundwork for a better tomorrow."

In addition to the inkind material donation, 25 Lafarge Eastern Canada women will donate a combination of 200 volunteer hours the Habitat Women Build project to help build the 6 new houses in Etobicoke on September 19.
