The Cedar Shop grows business and celebrates 40 years in LBM industry

The Cedar Shop has two big reasons to celebrate: 40 years in business and moving to a new location. They have been part of Calgary’s downtown business for decades, but it was time for a move. When a building opened-up across the street they took it!
"We are unique in that we are a lumber yard located right in the heart of Calgary – and we wanted to keep that location. Now we can offer customers an outdoor lifestyle store with our manufacturing and storage all under one roof, which means a better experience for our customers," says Mitch Wile, General Manager.
The showroom is expanding to 15,000 feet. Storage and manufacturing will be located in the same facility, meaning they can manufacture things like lattices or furniture and have them on the showroom immediately.
With two new entrances off 42nd Ave and 89 parking spots – there is more than enough space for customers and trucks to enter the facility, and trucks won’t need to turn around on site, they can drive through.
The new location will open in fall of 2018, with a grand opening and 40th Anniversary celebration planned for spring 2019. "We want to do this right and celebrate both these milestones in the spring," says Mitch.
