Wnet PayTech News
December 14, 2021

The end of each year is a time of reflection for me. As 2021 comes to a close, so
does my board service with Wnet. During the past nine years, I’ve seen Wnet transform and grow stronger while continuing to help women in our industry to achieve their highest potential. What stood out for me was the difference one person can make in the life and career path of another. I challenge you to be that person. Send a personal note inviting one of your peers to an event, sign up to be a mentor, or just take a moment every day to share a supportive comment or check in with
a co-worker.

Wnet’s mission is more important today than ever. I look forward to staying involved, working alongside an esteemed group of past presidents who are committed to Wnet’s ongoing success. I’ll be forever grateful for the learning and friendships I’ve gained along the way.

Happy Holidays to all!

Joan Herbig, Wnet Immediate Past President

Sincerely,

Joan Herbig

The Leadership and Vision of Two Impactful Leaders Has Enabled Wnet's Success

Presentation by Kelly Tufts, Wnet President-Elect and Vice President, Field Talent, Discover

On behalf of the Board of Directors, our Wnet staff, our partners, and thousands of members, I would like to say a special thanks to Joan Herbig, our immediate past president, and Mary Uslander, our current president.

Let me begin first with Joan. When Joan began her presidency on January 1, 2020, who could have imagined the year ahead? Joan’s leadership, ability to manage to our long-term vision while guiding all of us through the immediate needs and changes necessary to enable are future are a key reason why we are fortunate to be here together today. During 2020, not only did we increase our membership while shifting to digital events, but we also completed a critical part of our vision to become self-managed through the hiring of our first CEO, Wendy Holliday. Thank you, Joan!

Now to Mary, our current president. As Mary began her presidency earlier this year, she prepared all of us to navigate a year full of ambiguity, but one where we would continue to make investments for our future. Most notably, we increased our membership again, evolved events to hybrid when possible, conducted a thorough study to learn more from our members about how we can meet their needs given so many changes to how and where we work, and welcomed new team members to our staff that would set us up with the capabilities and skills to enable our future. Thank you, Mary!
