Looking back, moving forward
Wnet Founders Reflect on 15 Years of Empowering and Investing in Women

When Wnet founders Diane Faro, Linda Perry and Holli Targan came together for a webinar celebrating the organization’s 15th anniversary, attendees heard personal stories about the organization’s early days as well as hopes for the future. The hour-long session revealed the motivations behind creating Wnet and the challenges and wins facing the organization over the past 15 years.

 

The Early Years

Wnet officially began serving members in January 2006, but the seed was planted years earlier when Diane Faro, Linda Perry, Holli Targan and Mary Gerdts became acquainted through their involvement with the ETA (Electronic Transactions Association).

 

“We were all leaders in the ETA,” said Holli Targan, attorney and partner with Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer & Weiss PC. “But it was an ‘old boys club.’ And while men had all these opportunities for networking through the ETA and other industry events, there was nothing comparable for women.”
