By now, you may have heard that changes are coming to the regulations concerning the Davis-Bacon Act (DBA)— the prevailing wage law for direct federal and federal-aid projects. First proposed by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) August 8, the new regulations take effect October 23, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has already published a new Form 1273. Contractors with direct federal and federal-aid projects are affected.
  
Register today for this year's Aggregate Producer Safety Seminar which will offer a wide range of safety topics along with presentations from industry and safety professionals on December 6.
VTCA is working with coalition allies to include the R&D fix in the federal government funding resolution that needs to be approved by November 17.  
  
House and Senate tax writers are discussing a compromise tax package that would include a multi-year fix to R&D amortization.  
  
Congress needs to understand the urgency of fixing R&D amortization before the end of the year.

In late October, VTCA was honored to visit Vulcan Materials – Sanders Quarry to recognize Vulcan associate, Thad Arrington for 15 years of service without a lost time accident.
In one more way VTCA is working to make getting involved easier, members can now test out our new ACH payments feature! We are excited to roll these features out and provide another way for our members to pay through the site.

The National Aggregates Research Center concept and initiative - The Center for AggReGaTe,
