The 2023 Annual Meeting is set for July 13-16 at the spectacular Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, VA. This members only event is packed full of helpful sessions, an update on the Alliance, and family fun!
 
At the start of this year, VTCA staff began making strides towards developing a summer intern program that would allow us to invest in our own future success by discovering new talent and future leaders. We are pleased to announce that VTCA found such a candidate.
The Virginia political world is gearing up for expensive, high-stakes legislative elections this November. All 100 seats in the House of Delegates and all 40 seats in the Virginia Senate will be up for election. Partisan control of each chamber is expected to come down to just a few seats.

Virginia Energy’s Mineral Mining Program and the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance (VTCA) are accepting applications for the annual Virginia Mineral Mine Safety Awards, a very successful program that, since its inception in 2007, has recognized 112 companies and 476 mineral miners for outstanding safety achievements in Virginia’s mineral mining industry.

The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) has designated May 17, 2023, for their Stand Down to Save Lives event. MSHA's Stand Down to Save Lives was a nationwide initiative that encourages the mining community to take steps to prevent injuries and illnesses and stop the alarming rise in the number of miners killed on the job this year.
Avoid the embarrassment and potential liability and ensure your portable message signs are secured and cannot be altered without the proper credentials. 
Recently, there has been information released regarding a national initiative to establish a National Aggregates Research Center. The center’s working name is Aggregate Research, Geochemistry, and Technology (AggReGaTe).
