On September 8, 2021, MSHA published the Proposed Powered Haulage Rule (Rule). This Rule was developed in reaction to an increase in serious mining accidents involving powered haulage equipment, specifically mobile equipment on mine sites.
The Biden Administration has formally named Christopher J. Williamson as the nominee for MSHA Assistant Secretary.
Written comments, including comments on any aspect of this ETS and whether this ETS should become a final rule, must be submitted by December 6, 2021. VTCA believes the 30-day comment period is much too short to fully understand the ETS and all the implications the standard may mean for large employers.
 
The VDOT Professional Services Procurement Office (PSPO) would like to share status updates with Industry from 9 to 10 a.m. on December 10, 2021.
