IIAV MEMBER RESOURCES
Year after year and from coast to coast, floods continue to be the nation’s leading natural disaster. And while flood insurance may be top of mind for people who own property within sight of a large body of water, virtually every property faces a risk of flooding.

Question 1: We have been working to recover from our office closure that was the result of Hurricane Sandy. This is the time of year when everyone wants to take vacation but our backlog is staggering. Can we require that employees forego taking their vacation until we are caught up. Question 2: In the northern States, this is the time when we get snowstorms. We have a new office network which enables access to the network remotely. Some of our Customer Service Representatives live far away. There’s nothing about it in our handbook – can we let them work from home on an adhoc basis?

Hurricanes Sandy and Irene, massive forest fires in Colorado, killer tornados in the Midwest and earthquakes on the West Coast – all around us are examples of how emergencies can strike almost anywhere at any time.
