William A. "Bill" McPherson Jr., 82, of Tara Circle, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011.

Bill was a member of Centerville Baptist Church. He was the founder and co-owner of Savage and McPherson Insurance Agency. He was the founding director of the Chesapeake Crime Line. He served on various bank boards, including Chesapeake Bank and Trust and Monarch Bank, where he was a co-founder.

Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Vee McPherson; a brother, Wendell McPherson and wife Eunice; sisters, Doris McPherson Norwood and husband Tom and Elsie Lee McPherson Outlaw; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
