IIAV Member Ben Reedy Appointed by Governor to State Fire Services Board

Governor Northam recently announced the appointment of Ben Reedy to the Fire Services Board in a position reserved to represent the insurance industry. Reedy is Vice President of Slemp Brant Saunders and Associates in Marion, Virginia.
The Virginia Department of Fire Programs is committed to enhancing public safety throughout the Commonwealth and provides funding, professional development, research, operational support and technical assistance to fire departments throughout the state. It is substantially funded by a tax on homeowners insurance policies written in the state.
Ben Reedy’s father was a charter member of the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department and Ben followed in his father’s footsteps serving in the fire department and holding various offices for over 20 years.
“It is an honor to be appointed to the Fire Services Board. Having worked with many departments in our region I’ll hopefully be able to bring something to the table and looking forward to sharing ideas and discussions with other members,” noted Reedy.
