Possibly you’re one of the 75 percent of resident agents in Virginia who have NOT completed their CE for the biennium? Hard to believe that 75 percent of the Virginia agents have not completed their CE, as of August 2. I guess we’re in the land of "wait until the last minute."
Wait, you say, "I’ve got five long months." That’s certainly true, but as a great man once said, “things happen.” (Well that’s not exactly what he said, but close.) We’ve heard of a number of agents who got close to the end of the biennium and something happened where they didn’t get their CE completed and the CE Board just didn’t have sympathy or a sense of humor and the agent lost their license. Tough call.

You can take CE and be bored, or you can take some classes and learn something. We opt for the “learn something.” Many of our instructors have institutional knowledge that we can all learn from. I’ve heard that Danny Mitchell’s ethics class is a hoot. I know people that try to challenge Joe Hudgins or Dick Spires in their classes — of course both of these guys have seen virtually anything and everything in our industry.
Go to www.iiav.com/education and look at the education classes we have available near you or offered by webinar. Personally, I like the in-person classes but some people are so busy they have to do the webinars, they are simply more convenient.
Now, are you one of the 2,373 agents who have completed their CE but NOT paid their $20 renewal fee? Remember, it’s not done until the fee is paid.
