District Officers Council (DOC) Recap

Print this Article | Send to Colleague

I would like to thank everyone that participated in the 2021 District Officers Council (DOC).

The purpose of the annual District Officers Council orientation is to bring the incoming presidents and vice presidents from each district together, providing a great foundation of what the AGCVA goals are for 2022 and beyond. We take this opportunity to develop an understanding of expectations for each district, provide assistance with establishing goals in respective districts, and offer the tools and resources to achieve those goals. This annual fall meeting acts as a conduit for leaders to get to know their peers, to network, and to exchange information and ideas from across the state. This year specifically, we structured the agenda based on feedback given by district leaders during the Joint Leadership Meeting over the summer for volunteer training. And finally, it offers the opportunity to get to know the AGCVA staff and how district leaders can support them.

The highlight of this year was the roll out the 2022-2024 Strategic Plan. The Strategic Planning Taskforce was comprised of diverse members across each district. Work began back in May and the plan was finalized in October. Along with 2022 Business Plan, the strategic plan will provide this group of district leaders a framework of what the strategic goals are going forward, with a great “playbook” on how we all can achieve these goals for our members with 3 key pillars being to Advocate, Grow and Connect.  We exist for our members. I encourage you to review the full strategic plan on the AGCVA website for further details.

Each year we discuss some of the "keep" objectives that are the foundation of who we are. The districts are the “boots on the ground” that where so many of our initiatives start and materialize. We discuss the training, safety best practices, educational foundation, workforce development and legislative issues that impact our industry. Rest assured, your district leaders are committed to serving you, and they are working very hard on your behalf, as is the AGCVA staff. I encourage you to take full advantage of your AGCVA membership by getting involved, whether for the first time, or in a new way, within your district. Thank you for being part of this association and for trusting us to serve you well.
