Message from 2021 AGCVA Chairman

I am honored to serve and look forward to serving as your 2021 AGCVA Chairman. In my years of being involved with AGCVA I have become a grateful member for all our association does. I am always humbled by the talent that exists in our AGCVA members and our staff.

Working side by side through the challenges we face in the industry allows us to achieve great things together, and it is also personally inspiring. There is great strength in our differences, that collectively, help to protect and promote our interests in the construction industry.

In the year ahead I will work to put our strategic goals into action. A major initiative will be to improve communication both to the association as a whole through a comprehensive plan, but also between the state level and districts. AGCVA has so much to offer each of us and I hope that by improving this communication, all of us can better appreciate the strength and value that AGCVA membership offers us. I will work with the AGCVA staff to improve our legislative relationships throughout the year and not just when the General Assembly is in session. Our financial strength is sound. Our foundations and districts are well-funded thanks to you, our members. I will put these funds into action and use them as we should to make AGCVA more inclusive and to promote our initiatives. It is our duty as officers at the state and district level to invest in our industry, our communities, and to you, our members, as well as promote the AGCVA to those who could benefit from being part of the association.

One thing is certain - AGCVA always has your back. While you focus on your business at hand, we will keep you better informed, safeguarded, and supported.

Best wishes in 2021,

Trip Smith
AGCVA Chairman, 2021
