On April 22nd, we hosted a panel discussion titled "Dealing With Difficult Residents", featuring Grimes Creasy & Melanie Adkins. Grimes Creasy is a long time respected speaker in our industry. He is an attorney at Johnson, Ayers & Matthews - Counselors at Law. Melanie is a licensed professional counselor and Emergency and Jail Diversion Services Coordinator for New River Valley Community Services. Melanie has worked in community mental health and substance abuse for 22 years.  She oversees the New River Valley Crisis Intervention Team and recently served on the Governors Task Force for Mental Health and Crisis Response.  This event was very well attended.

On May 14th, we hosted our Membership Breakfast and our guest speaker was Sharon Scott from the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. She talked to us about what the chamber is, what it does and what it can do for you and your community. It was a very informative session and Sharon did a great job of keeping members engaged.
