What Are BRAC Volunteer Leaders Working On?

BRAC has many things that we have been, and continue, working on for our members. As you may have noticed, the BRAC website, our very own Internet Listing Service, has changed quite a bit over the last 2 years or so. The BRAC Website Committee works hard at keeping our ILS service competitive in our growing market. They began a pay per click campaign through Google about 6 months ago to improve traffic to our website and have made other improvements so that our committee as well as our members can track their leads and page visits. From August 1st through December 31st, we saw a 23% increase in website traffic Year over Year and a 75% increase in mobile visits Year over Year. We are seeing increases in our sessions and page views as well. This service continues to improve all the time.

The BRAC Advisory Committee has several points of focus this year and they are as follows:
· Local Government Affairs - Members of our Advisory Committee have committee to meet with several local elected officials throughout the year so that we may develop professional relationships with these officials and be kept in the loop of any upcoming local legislation that may be of interest to our industry.

· BRAC Membership Growth & Engagement, with a special focus on small owner engagement as well as gaining membership from newly developed communities.

· Improve the relationship and member benefit for BRAC supplier members - The plan of action for this is currently being worked on by our BRAC Supplier Committee. One of their goals is to work on a campaign to encourage our members to do business with other members of our association. VAMA’s Click-N-Connect portal is going to be a big advantage on this matter.

· BRAC is working to partner with local education institutions, such as PVCC and CATEC, to develop workforce training & recruitment programs for maintenance professionals. Currently, PVCC has already met with VAMA and NAA staff and is considering the option to begin offering the CAMT program at PVCC. The CAMT course is already being offered at another local college in Hampton, VA so we hope to be able to offer it here in Charlottesville as well. The goal is to bring more qualified individuals into our industry as there seems to be a shortage in the field of maintenance professionals. Our goal is to have the CAMT program available at PVCC by this fall.
