After 32 Years of Service, Elliott Retires

Deputy Secretary of Transportation Quintin Elliott has retired after 32 years of service to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Elliott was named Deputy Secretary of Transportation by Governor Ralph Northam in January 2018. He was previously appointed as Chief Deputy Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) in January 2014 by then Governor Terry McAuliffe.
During his 32-year career with VDOT, Elliott was responsible for the construction of several projects, including the Jefferson Avenue Interchange and the creation of the first transportation asset management system in the nation. He is proudest of his role in developing the next generation of leaders within the agency.
Elliott also served in the Virginia Air National Guard, retiring in 2008 as Commander of the 192 Civil Engineering Squadron. He earned several awards and decorations for his military service, most notably the Meritorious Service Medal for his service during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Originally from Natural Bridge, he is married and has a son and daughter. He looks forward to focusing on his family and acting as full-time dad. Join us in wishing him the best in his retirement and future endeavors.
