Get Hands-On with Composting at Fall Compost Operations Training Courses

CREF is excited to announce upcoming Compost Operations Training Courses (COTC) designed to give you the hands-on skills and technical knowledge needed to manage successful composting operations. Whether you're new to composting or looking to refine your practices, these five-day immersive trainings are a must-attend.

First up is a COTC in Raleigh, NC taking place September 8–12, 2025. Hosted in the heart of North Carolina, this training will combine classroom instruction with field demonstrations. You’ll learn about compost recipe development, pile construction, site management, troubleshooting odors and pests, equipment selection, and regulatory considerations. It's a great opportunity to connect with other compost professionals in a vibrant composting region. Or, join us in Novi, MI October 27 - 31 for another session that offers the same comprehensive curriculum. Finally, mark your calendars for a COTC in Colorado this November, with more details to come.
