We are thrilled to highlight Aidan Ciavarra as February’s YP of the Month! Aidan currently runs her own community-focused composting business called Earthbound Compost.
Aidan got her start in composting through a compost co-op in DC, which sparked her passion for community-led waste diversion. That experience led Aidan to CompostNow, where she spent nearly two years supporting residential composting services for 10,000+ customers across four states.
After leaving CompostNow, Aidan completed the Sankofa Central Virginia Urban Farm Fellowship in Richmond, getting hands-on experience with composting systems and urban agriculture.
Following Aidan’s completion of the SEA Change Incubator in partnership with United Virginia Enterprise Foundation, she launched Earthbound Compost—a community-focused composting business. Through Earthbound, Aidan helps Richmond homeowners set up composting systems, works to bring more community-led composting sites to the area, and provides strategic growth of businesses focused on zero-waste initiatives, particularly waste haulers and composting operations.
Most recently, Aidan has joined forces with Green Scope Consulting, a firm that provides data management and reporting services to compost and recycling haulers. In this role, Aidan is developing outreach strategies and helping connect service providers with the operational tools they need to grow and improve their programs.
Aidan joined the USCC Young Professionals Committee in 2025 to support the Emerging Composter Competition and is proud of what the team accomplished at COMPOST2026!
Congratulations to Aidan for her contribution to the composting industry and contributions to the YP Group as part of the Emerging Composters Competition Committee!
