Exploring the City

Sacramento is an extremely walkable city—if you are not bringing or renting a car, the streets are created with pedestrians in mind. If you are driving throughout your stay, there is plenty of available parking downtown, with much of it also offering the ability to reserve a spot! Walking around the city can provide a wealth of things to do; Sacramento has a vibrant nightlife, restaurant, and art gallery scene. Check out a map of downtown Sacramento here!

Exploring Outdoors
Want to stretch your legs and get some fresh air? Sacramento provides plenty of fantastic outdoor adventures. Explore the American River Parkway bike trails, or rent a bike in Old Sacramento for a bit of urban exploration and enjoy the bike-friendly city! If the water is more your speed, Sacramento provides plenty of rafting opportunities on the American River, or you can explore the river on your own with a number of parks providing both beach and water access to the public.

Arts and Entertainment
If you’re looking for something a bit more low-key to explore, Sacramento has a wealth of art galleries, museums, and fine arts to check out while you’re in town.

Sacramento has a range of theater experiences, from independent theater at Geery Theater, Broadway plays, musicals, and classics downtown to smaller private theaters offering locally written and acted talents. Sacramento also has a variety of top-class musical talent, including the Sacramento Ballet, the Sacramento Philharmonic, and the Sacramento Opera.
