USCC member NOPE Compost is partnering with the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA) to expand its compost drop-off program across the region. The expansion is taking place in Chesterfield and Henrico Counties, as well as in the City of Richmond.

The new drop-off locations in Chesterfield and Henrico Counties will be located both in recycling convenience centers and in public-use locations. The drop-off program in Richmond began three years ago, and this expansion is a testament to the program’s success.

For each ton of compostable materials collected through the CVWMA program, NOPE will give back a 40-pound bag of finished compost to partner jurisdictions. Municipalities and jurisdictions can find so many important uses for end-use compost, from use in public landscaping, highway embankments, and community gardens.

NOPE Compost is based out of Henrico, VA, and is a member of the Virginia Composting Council. You can read more about the expansion of their program by clicking here.
