Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Thanks for the patience and excitement you showed during our Phase I launch of the STA database in December 2021. Contract Renewal for this fiscal year July 2022-June 2023 was launched on July 14, and the normal application window without late fee is closing on August 16. Please go to STA Gateway for submitting the contract. Please have the following items ready to renew your STA:

  • How many finished wet tons you produce for each STA product
  • What percentage of each feedstock you use to create those products
  • Specific directions for using each product
  • First page of the Facility permit copy / Annual report if available

Here is what you need to know-- The 2022-2023 STA Agreement introduces a new classification system for Derivative Products based on the following sub-categories:

  • Alternative Name Product
  • Alternative Sized Product
  • Blended Product

The full text of the STA and Compost Consumer Use Program (CCUP) Agreement will be available on the Gateway renewal page for you to review and sign. To view the most recent information on STA participation fees for members and non-members, please visit our website. A late fee of $100 will be charged for any submissions after August 16.  The review process will take about two to three weeks after receiving your information. An STA Program Administrator will reach out to you once an invoice is created with payment details.

Please note that STA participation fees are different from USCC membership fees. To receive the membership discount, USCC membership dues for 2022-2023 year must be renewed. If you have any questions regarding the STA renewal, please reach out to Gowri Sundaram, gsundaram@compostingcouncil.org
