The US EPA has more than $300 million in grants to give out due to the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. As written, the funds are to go to “recycling” infrastructure but there are signals from EPA that composting projects may be considered part of recycling and eligible for two buckets of funding:

1) Solid Waste Infrastructure Grants – also known as SWIFR – This $275M pool of funds is for infrastructure requests for municipalities, states and tribes. Public Private partnerships will be accepted. Write to EPA to urge them to consider composting projects as well as recycling projects by clicking here: https://p2a.co/h60Y02B

2) Education and Outreach grants – This grant pool of $75M will be offered to municipalities, states, tribes and non-profits AS WELL AS Public Private partnerships.
Write to EPA to urge them to consider composting projects as well as recycling projects by clicking here: https://p2a.co/aPOmiLT

The time to send your comments on either of these grant funds is now.  The comment period closes July 25.
