This year, USCC offered a special recognition to a longtime volunteer who was so busy volunteering she was unable to accept the award in-person!
Nanci Koerting of Maryland has traveled to USCC conferences every year for the past six years to coordinate safety and site logistics at the Demonstration Day, held the day after every US Composting Council national conference. No matter the weather, she is on the site days before, making sure details are followed through; that is why she was not even there when her surprise award was announced at the final day of COMPOST2019 in Phoenix!
She does it for no compensation except the satisfaction of a Demo Day well-run. Thanks, Nanci, for a job well done!
