As the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic begin to dissipate, employers will begin the process of recalling furloughed employees. Careful planning will be critical if potential issues, both legal and practical, are to be avoided.
  
Growing a business in 2020 is vastly different from doing so even only 10 years ago. This is true for just about every industry out there, plumbing included. Simply put, as customers have started looking in new places for service providers, a strong digital image has become a prerequisite for any business. An old saying continues to hold true: Adapt or get left behind.
  
We have crews that ride together in vehicles and perform work outside. We've explained to employees that work is optional during this time and we've encouraged employees to stay home if they feel sick or are concerned about exposure. We have an employee who's returning from a trip to Puerto Rico. Can we require that she doesn't come in or turn in a doctor's note before return?
  
Leaders who follow these two mantras closely stand the best chance of emerging from the current crisis with their conscience – and their organization – intact.
  
During these unsettling times, it’s critically important to set yourself apart from the “typical contractor” in the minds of homeowners. The TSBPE now allows ALL plumbers to complete their annual continuing education requirement for license renewal via correspondence course (mail) regardless of where they reside!

The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors of Texas witnessed some of the most tumultuous decision making at the Texas State Capitol in 2019. At the close of the 2021, if there is no legislation passed to maintain statewide licensing of plumbing, the plumbers in Texas will lose this valuable designation in their occupations!

Course topics (Sat/Sun 8 am-5 pm) include: Simple physics, Cross Connection & Backflow Devices, Drains, Waste Water, Vents, Water Supply & Sizing, Miniature Ruler & Scaling, Gas Piping & Appliance Venting, L.P.G., Water Heaters, Facility, OSHA, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), plumbing requirements for a multiple story structure, plumbing codes, and the Texas State Plumbing License Laws and Rules. (16 hours)
The contents of this weekend training class will prepare you to take both the Journeyman or the Tradesman examination. It is a ONE day Test Prep that focuses strictly on passing the test. Model Plumbing House used for Hands-On Training Experience. Most of the day will be spent doing hands-on training
Course fee includes a copy of the NFPA 99 current edition (2018) to keep (a $75 value).
