The passage of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) in 1993 marked the beginning of mandatory leave in American workplaces. Prior to that whether leave for any purpose was granted to an employee was totally at the discretion of the employer. The FMLA, which applies to employers with 50 or more employees within a 75-mile radius, provides up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave per year for certain specified purposes.
By now, you may have heard about the new SECURE (Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement) Act. Passed at the end of 2019, this legislation contains a number of provisions intended to help strengthen your retirement security. Here are some of the changes that may impact your situation, either now or in the future.
As a business owner, there’s so much more to know about insurance than premiums (payments in exchange for coverage), losses (incidents that cause financial harm), claims (requests to pay for a loss), and deductibles (the value that an insured party must pay before an insurer will begin paying). The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors of Texas witnessed some of the most tumultuous decision making at the Texas State Capitol this year. At the close of the 2021, if there is no legislation passed to maintain statewide licensing of plumbing, the plumbers in Texas will lose this valuable designation in their occupations!
Upcoming Events
This course is designed to fulfill the requirements of The Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners Rules Sect 363.11(b).

Specifically, "Before a Plumbing Inspector, Journeyman, or Master Plumber may qualify to take the Medical Gas Piping Installation endorsement examination, the applicant must complete a training program approved by the Board which pertains to subject matter applicable to the installation of medical gas piping systems" per the (NFPA) 99 Health Care Facilities Code.
8-Hr Residential Plbg Code (IRC) is required by the Texas State Plumbing Board for those planning on taking the Tradesman or Journeyman's license exam (Section 363.12). PHCC Texas is a state authorized provider of this training and issues the necessary certificate for scheduling the exam with TSBPE. Must attend both days for full credit. 
Everyone completing this course receives a wallet card from OSHA good for 3 years and certificate of completion. This is a two day class. You must attend both days to receive credit.
This 24-Hr course covers finance; legal; local, state & federal rules/regulations; insurance - bonds - workman’s comp; OSHA awareness; customer service as adopted in Section 363.13.  Students who successfully complete the full 3-day course will receive an official PHCC 'Certificate of Completion' as proof of having fulfilled all RMP education requirements and for filing with the TSBPE.  
Course topics (Sat/Sun 8 am-5 pm) include:  Simple physics, Cross Connection & Backflow Devices, Drains, Waste Water, Vents, Water Supply & Sizing, Miniature Ruler & Scaling, Gas Piping & Appliance Venting, L.P.G., Water Heaters, Facility, OSHA, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), plumbing requirements for a multiple story structure, plumbing codes, and the Texas State Plumbing License Laws and Rules.
