TEEX is proud to support an important research initiative led by Texas A&M University’s Department of Kinesiology and Human Movement Sciences. This study focuses on how firefighters perform essential skills and how personal protective equipment (PPE) affects body movement during those tasks. The ultimate goal is to improve how we teach these skills and promote movement patterns that reduce the risk of long-term injuries.
To support this effort, the research team is seeking volunteers to participate in a 2–3 hour session this August at the TEEX Fire Field. Participants will complete four common firefighting skills—first in station wear and then in full PPE—after a brief set of body measurements.
The attached flyer includes a registration link and additional details. Since funding does not cover any travel expenses, the team is especially hoping to engage firefighters within driving distance.
