TIA Releases Updated Carrier Selection Framework

TIA has released its 11th edition of the TIA Carrier Selection Framework (CSF). This year’s Carrier Selection Framework contains several key updates and additions:

  • The latest landscape surrounding the FMCSA “safety initiative” CSA and the Safety Fitness Determination rulemaking
  • The recommendations from the National Academy of Sciences on areas of improvement to the CSA initiative. These recommendations were required by Congress to be completed, and
  • Update to the carrier selection portion that includes CVSA making an inactive USDOT number an out-of-service violation

Through its annual updates, the TIA Carrier Selection Framework continues to be the landmark framework and one of the leading member resources utilized by its members. TIA is fortunate that its Carrier Selection Committee, led by Chairman Jeff Tucker, CTB, CEO of Tucker Company Worldwide, has been comprised of the leading authorities and voices on the subject in the U.S. Its recent Committee includes a broad and diversified range of subject matter experts, with firms and individuals who are authorities in:

  • freight broker operations
  • motor carrier operations
  • carrier assessment
  • professional risk management
  • several transportation attorneys
  • insurance industry experts who specialize in insuring freight brokers and motor carriers, and
  • carrier compliance data reporting companies
