During the Opening Session of the TIA Conference to be held April 10 in Palm Desert, California, the membership will be asked to ratify several amendments to the TIA Bylaws. The amendments were approved by the TIA Board of Directors through separate actions taken in June and November of 2017, and require ratification at the next regular meeting of the membership, which is the 2018 TIA Capital Ideas Conference.

The amendments are:
(1) To add a new Article XV to create TIAPAC Board of Directors as follows:

Article XV
TIAPAC Board of Directors

Section 1. Mission. TIAPAC’s mission is to raise funds to advance the legislative priorities of the third-party logistics industry through donations to supportive Members of Congress.

Section 2. Organization. TIAPAC shall have a Board of Directors, and a Chair appointed by the TIA Board of Directors, and as such shall seek to raise the profile of the third-party logistics industry with policy decision makers through the TIAPAC. The Chairman and Board of Directors will oversee the finances of TIAPAC and implement strategy to increase participation.

(2) To make the Secretary the custodian of the Bylaws (Article IV, Section 3)

(3) To combine the Budget and Finance Committees into a single committee as has been the practice for some time (Article IX, Section 1)

(4) Add the Membership Review Board to the list of standing committees (Article IX, Section 1)

(5) To combine the Legislative and Steering Committees into a single standing committee (Article IX, Section 1)

(6) To expand the Budget and Finance Committee membership to include the Secretary and two additional members of the TIA Board (Article IX, Section 5)

(7) Corrections to Article and Section references, renumbering after the addition of the TIA PAC Article.
