The HIT Committee is off to a strong start with action items that include addressing the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) as well as caution and concerns for nurse leaders and educators, practice nurses, and health care organizations.  The joint HIT Committee will be working with TNA’s Policy Committee to develop an Issues Brief on AI. Other focus items include addressing Iatrogenic events related to the electronic health record, and the documentation burden of information systems related to the health and wellness of nurses. HIT Committee members will review and update the HIT webpage housed on the TNA website. Members of the committee will also facilitate the dissemination of information through various venues, including the publication of articles authored by members, webinars, panel discussions, and presentations.

Two TONL members were added in October: Emily Flahaven and Juliana Brixey. Emily is the elected co-chair of the committee along with Kathleen Ulanday from TNA. Vicki Brockman, Nancy Crider, and Cindy Plonien are other TONL representatives.
