I am currently seeking my Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) certification

How has TONL contributed to your career?
TONL has contributed to my career by providing current information that promotes education and a platform from which I am able to disseminate information and ideas to faculty and staff on campus regarding topics such as rebuilding leadership and the tools to assist students to transition into nursing.

What is your background in the nursing field?
I have 22 years of nursing currently in the role of Associate Dean of Faculty at Chamberlain University Pre-Licensure BSN Program. I have experience in Med-Surg, ICU, Dialysis, LTAC, LTC, Home Health and Hospice, Case Management, Performance Improvement, and Leadership.

What are your plans for future growth?
I plan to continue my path as an academic leader with aspirations to become a Dean of Academics and/or Campus President in the future.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy interactions with students and the moments the light bulb is lit when concepts make sense and when students have their first clinical experience, and it all starts to come together.

Do you have a personal tidbit to share?
I love to garden, cook, and crochet.

What is your community involvement/service?
I am a member of the Order of Eastern Stars, a member of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. and I have been the Advising Faculty for both the Student Nurses Association (SNA) and Student Government Association (SGA) since 2018. I participate in and help organize community blood drives, school supply drives, book drives, clothing drives, and various campus activities to increase student engagement both on and off campus.
